Mr. Fahey received his J.D. from John Marshall Law School in 1980 after which he spent over four years serving as an Assistant State's Attorney of Kane County in Geneva, Illinois. He prosecuted many felony cases and was named Prosecutor of the Year in 1982. He joined the firm in April 1985 as an associate and became a partner in 1994. Since joining the firm, he has worked actively in the asbestos department of Cooney and Conway. He has successfully argued cases that have resulted in verdicts of $35.1 million and $12.3 million, settled numerous other cases in excess of ten million dollars, over two hundred cases in excess of one million dollars, and total settlements on behalf of Cooney and Conway asbestos clients in excess of one billion dollars. Mr. Fahey has been a member in good standing with the Illinois state bar since 1980 and has been admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois and the Northern District of Indiana. He has argued appeals in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and in the First and Second District Appellate Courts of the State of Illinois. He is an active member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the American Trial Lawyers Association. He has been selected for membership in the Outstanding Lawyers of America and as one of the top 5% of lawyers in the State of Illinois. |
